Each of our homes has a black outdoor "post mount"-style gas lantern installed near the front entrance.
Periodically, homeowners will need to replace the mantles in their gas lanterns. If the lantern flames are not burning, or if the flames are burning unevenly, it may be time to replace the mantles.
You can purchase and install new mantles yourself. Choose "soft inverted" mantles with "standard #179B" ring size. American Mantle sells these on Amazon.

KimY was told by the company that once the initial mantle burns out, it should be replaced immediately, so that debris does not get inside the lines. If your lantern won't stay lit, this may be the problem.
